Dr Špela Miroševič, PhD, a CTNNB1 mother, is the Co-Founder and CEO of the CTNNB1 Foundation, a global non-profit organisation advancing the development of the world’s first gene therapy for CTNNB1 syndrome. With a background in biopsychology and a PhD in biomedicine, she bridges scientific research, clinical care, and patient advocacy. Under her leadership, a global research consortium into CTNNB1 syndrome has been established, over €4 million in funding has been raised, and national legislation has been changed to release €1 million in public funding for rare disease therapies. As both a scientist and the mother of a child with a rare disease, Dr Miroševič is deeply committed to accelerating access to life-changing treatments.
